You have the opportunity to join our team as a **Field Scientist** in **Bajio (Mexico)** .
The **Field Scientist (FS)** at Corteva will coordinate day to day field research operations for Crop Protection and Biologicals research projects in Bajío. Will be expected to execute field experiments at multiple locations, collect and manage data for the characterization and advancement of multidiscipline products. Will serve as the interface between the Commercial and the Field Science organizations by providing technical support of existing products and support product launches as part of a cross-functional team in the country or Commercial Unit.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Accountable for flawless field trial execution in territory: Understanding and writing of protocols, forecasting sample needs and organizing local shipments of research samples and material. Accountable for exact planting, applications and evaluations as well reliable upload of data to pertinent databases. Accountable for destruction of crop after trial completion according to local regulations.
+ Organizes field tours upon request and selects appropriate trials to support decision making in a regional/global trial program
+ Contributes within the Biology Team to assist with the creation of the biology workplan.
+ Networks with internal and external investigators to summarize all trial data and draw appropriate conclusions.
+ Fully accountable for data management (including statistics) associated with trials through completion and archiving of all relevant reports.
+ Develops research proposals, including protocols with interpretive intent and resource needs, for assigned key questions per the documented process to ensure that local needs are incorporated as needed.
+ Identifies key questions and coordinates research to open new business opportunities.
+ Implements the latest methods for experimental design and interpretive analysis to address questions within the scope of the product characterization process.
+ Assists technical leaders in strategy of local data generation for pipeline and existing products to ensure optimal technical value propositions for final products and cost-efficient trial plans.
+ Measures and documents field performance, understands resistance issues, and identifies trends and issues relative to current and emerging market competition in the assigned territory. Proposes technical positioning to the Local Product Concept Teams based on local needs and requirements in the assigned territory.
+ Serves as R&D expert and technical focal point for specific products and crops in the assigned territory.
**Qualifications:**
+ Broad scientific and agronomic understanding and leadership, ability to select optimal test sites and strategies and good understanding of trial designs and goals.
+ Versatile individual who can solve practical problems in sometimes remote locations and is committed to a strong safety and stewardship culture.
+ Agronomic and business experience in relevant geography across multiple disciplines.
+ Experienced in summarizing trial results. Good listener and interpreter of views from a wide range of inputs.
+ Good communication skills to transfer knowledge across the network and within the region in Spanish and English.
+ B.S in Agronomy or related careers with three (3) to five (5) years of field research experience.
+ Excellent computer, data management, statistical analysis, and data presentation skills are essential.
+ Desired Ph.D. or M.S. in biological sciences, including plant pathology, entomology, physiology, weed Science, Agronomy, or related field
+ Desired expertise in Biostimulants
+ Technical expertise in key crops (veggies, avocado, berry, corn,sugarcane
+ Residence in Guanajuato, Queretano, San Luis Potosi, Michoacan or Aguas calientes
