POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for safe, effective and efficient management of field production processes, typically at the location or country level.
Plans for production resources (manpower, machinery, equipment and tools, facilities and raw materials) needed to develop high quality seed on-time to meet distribution, delivery and stock transport schedules.
Manages internal and external relationships.
Manages field production operations through subordinate staff having full accountability in their respective areas.
Provides leadership and decisions to staff on operational questions related to their areas and responsibilities. This job progression covers both commercial and parent seed production.
Serves as a primary field contact for seed production which includes: grower management and support (acreage planning, quality control, etc.), coordinating integrated pest management program, and coordinating production research programs at the plant level.
Supervises field work, prepares reports as assigned by the Production Location manager.
Responsible for training and education of seed field employees and growers in agronomy, seedsmanship and safety.
Essential Qualifications:
Extentsive Field Production Management Experience – Proven track record in field production management is crucial. While experience in hybrid corn production operations is highly preferred, we will also consider candidates with strong experience in hybrid rice production operations.
Geographic Flexibility – Must be willing and able to be based in the Central Luzon area, specifically La Union where we plan to concentrate most of our seed production operations.
Physical Fitness and Mobility are essential requirements for this role.
Must possess a valid non-professional driver’s license (at the minimum) and skilled in driving 4 Wheel vehicles both in main roads and rural areas.
Critical Skills:
Communication Proficiency – Excellent English Communication Skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective collaboration and reporting
Strategic and Analytical Capabilities – Demonstrated abilities in both Strategic and Tactical Planning, Negotiations, Problem Solving, Cost and Quality Management are required.
Leadership and Interpersonal Skills – Strong people management skills and a high Emotional Quotient (EQ) are necessary to effectively lead and inspire subordinates, fostering a sense of command and control especially under pressure.
Technical Proficiency – Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) is expected, along with experience in utilizing productivity and anaylysis tools such as Power BI, AI applications, and Minitab to name a few.
Agronomic Expertise – Solid understanding of Agronomy Science, with specific knowledge in hybrid corn production, is highly valued.
