Job Purpose
The Field Coordinator will be instrumental in supporting the on-the-ground implementation in 4 Municipalities (Kurbin, Vora, Kukes and Kruja part of the project “Enhancing Local Social Care Services partnerships with citizens and toward EU Standards”, a project funded by the European Delegation in Albania. The Field Coordinator will closely coordinate with local teams and partners to ensure the effective execution of project tasks. This position demands a proactive approach to supporting operational activities, facilitating local engagements, and ensuring quality and compliance in all project initiatives.
Main Responsibilities
Implement Specific Project Activities (65%)
The Field Coordinator will be primarily responsible for the direct oversight and management of specific project activities, including the organization and execution of local forums, information sessions, and capacity-building initiatives. This role requires exceptional coordination skills to handle logistics, such as venue selection and scheduling, and ensuring the availability of necessary materials and resources. The successful candidate will act as a moderator or presenter to clearly communicate project objectives to participants, demonstrating strong facilitation skills. Conducting needs assessments in targeted municipalities to identify service gaps and organizing tailored capacity-building sessions are also key responsibilities. The role involves assisting during programmatic visits and field monitoring, providing logistical and coordination support for technical assistance, and facilitating on-the-job training sessions. Ensuring documentation and compliance with project requirements, compiling detailed quarterly reports, and assisting in financial reporting are essential functions that require meticulous attention to detail and analytical skills.
Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination (25%)
Engagement and coordination with community leaders, local government officials, and implementing partners form a significant part of the Field Coordinator's responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain regular channels of communication, organize and attend meetings to discuss project progress, and address concerns. This role demands the ability to distribute regular updates and developed communications effectively, ensuring all stakeholders are kept well-informed about project developments and upcoming activities. A knack for building and maintaining relationships, coupled with a strategic approach to stakeholder engagement, is crucial for this position.
Knowledge/Qualifications for the Role
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of professional experience in project implementation and community development, backed by a Master's degree in Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field. Over three years of experience in a similar role and a proven ability to monitor and evaluate program/project progress are required. Preferred qualifications include a strong understanding of local partner contributions, exceptional capacity-building and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in both Albanian and English. Familiarity with basic computer programs, integrity, emotional maturity, and good interpersonal skills are also desired. Knowledge of child and adult protection and safety issues and a Class B license are advantageous.
Travel and Working Environment Requirements
This position requires extensive travel within Albania. Candidates must be adaptable to diverse working environments and the physical demands of fieldwork.
