Key Responsibilities:

*Position location: Open globally where World Vision International is registered to operate.

The Field Capability Manager is a new, field-facing role created to work closely with World Vision’s regional and field communications teams to strengthen communications capabilities. 

The successful candidate will facilitate the development of a capability framework for field communications and work with regional and field offices to map and assess existing investment in and state of communications capabilities in World Vision and identify and co-create a range of approaches to address gaps between future requirements and current state. 

The Field Capability Manager will directly engage with regional and field office communications teams to support annual business planning and reporting in each of World Vision's seven operating regions and provide direct support when and where deemed appropriate.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and direct mapping of customer expectations of communications capabilities needed to deliver on World Vision organizational strategy and development of operational guidance from this mapping.Lead mapping of the current state of investment in and state of communications capability in World Vision operational context.In collaboration with communications teams in World Vision operational contexts and appropriate internal customers, identify, co-create and standardise a range of flexible and resilient options to deliver on the communications capabilities required by World Vision into Our Promise Phase 3.Lead, manage, and coordinate Global Field Operations-Communications (GFO) annual processes including GFO Priority Project List, Field Finance Guidance, Global Meeting List, and Business Plan Global Alignment, including associated reporting and advocacy.Manage internal and change communications projects as needed to ensure effective implementation of strategy, processes, and products.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree or above in Communications, Media Production or a closely related field.7-10 years working in communications in an international field context.Demonstrated success directly managing field communications work.Demonstrated success leading complex content strategy and product development processes in a remote context.5-7 years of experience in multi-cultural and cross-cultural communications.Proven success leading and developing communications in or from a field-based context.7-10 years leading content strategy and/or production at the field level.Demonstrated effectiveness in assessing and developing staff capabilities.Strong capacity to build effective working relationships across cultures, functions, and organizational levels.Capacity to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects in the absence of direct line authority.Availability to travel internationally less than 25% of the time.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Spanish or French proficiency.5+ years of experience in communications in WVI or another INGO or closely related organization.Experience with World Vision work processes, terminology, and marketing.Existing relationships with World Vision field office and global communications functional teams.
