Are you passionate about pushing the boundaries of wireless communication? Ericsson is looking for a Researcher to join our cutting-edge team working on the future of connectivity. This position specifically targets research work to support 6G standardization, which will start this year, in international standards fora like 3GPP and ORAN.

Based at Ericsson Research, in the heart of London, UK, you will work in a multicultural environment, collaborating with colleagues from different geographical locations and disciplines. As a member of our world-class research team, you will play a key role in researching new technologies, generating innovative ideas, and supporting the development of telecoms standards to influence regulators and shape the wider 6G technology landscape.

What you'll be doing At Ericsson research, you will contribute to complex research studies and participate in global research projects.Develop new concepts and technologies, including performing measurements and simulations, to evaluate performance in different deployments and spectrum scenarios, using state-of-the-art radio network simulator tools and/or testbeds.Conduct advanced research focused on 6G Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC). This means that you will be researching ISAC technologies, including positioning, and spatial mapping for 6G indoor and outdoor radio deployments.Supporting our Ericsson 3GPP RAN1–RAN3 standardization teamsContribute to patent creation and generation of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs).Communicate results and support internal knowledge sharing, including contributions to our strategic research direction.Results are delivered in the form of simulations, Intellectual Property (IP) technical reports, standard contributions, academic papers, white papers, and different proof of concepts.Collaborate with external partners, academic institutions, and standards bodies to share insights that will impact the future of wireless technologies.What you'll bring PhD candidate or PhD degree, in Electrical Engineering or related. Preferably specialized in physical layer and networking aspects of wireless communication.Excellent knowledge of radio communication, signal processing, and mobile networks, with special interest in L1 and L2 ISAC technologies for 6G Radio Access Networks (RAN).Excellent communication, social networking, and collaboration skills with a positive, proactive attitude.Strong analytical skills, with an inventive mindset and passion for problem solving.Experience from development of new concepts and Intellectual Property Right (IPR), including standards processes and the reading of standard specifications (e.g. 3GPP, ORAN, ETSI, or other telecom-related bodies)Familiar with applying AI technologies and tools.Proven skills in programming and high proficiency in simulation tools like MATLAB.Proven researcher skills, preferably with international collaboration experience.Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.Willingness to travel
