Role Responsibility
The primary function of the Executive Safety is to champion and promote health & safety awareness, and to spearhead and co-ordinate all safety unctions including risk assessment & management, health & safety trainings, incident investigation, initiating brewery inspections, audits, etc.
Health & Safety
Compliance with Legal Obligations and Company Requirements
•To advise and support the Brewery Head and other people involved in planning, organizing, controlling and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for work.
•To adhere to the Company health and safety policy, organization and arrangements in consultation with stake holders.
•To implement HNK Health and Safety Procedures and develop local work procedures to comply with legal obligations.
•To liaison with government authorities for statutory compliance related to Safety
•To review and develop the Safety Management Plan (AP) and communicate the plan at all levels.
•Maintain the Brewery risk register comprising of significant risks and ensure that risk assessments are completed for all activities.
•Ensure compliance to all occupational health, safety and statutory requirements.
Cross Functional Collaboration
•To advise and support the Brewery Health and Safety Committee, in making sure that the Committee takes ownership of the Brewery Health and Safety Management Plan (AP).
•To extend support in achieving OpCo level Health& safety management plan (AP)
•To advise Brewery Head in ensuring that their Brewery has key staff mobilized to carry out the health and safety activities e.g. Risk assessors, First aiders, Fire wardens, etc.
•To support brewery leadership team in implementing Call to Action
Accident investigation and prevention
•Report incidents on time as defined by HKN standards and investigate reports of incidents, dangerous occurrences and fire damage, determine their causes and make recommendations for improving recurrence prevention and controls and horizontal deployment across brewery
•To monitor that all incidents are properly investigated by department managers and lessons learnt are shared appropriately.
•To maintain a system for recording, reporting and investigating injuries, incidents and dangerous occurrences. Provide statistical summaries to the Brewery Health and Safety Committee and draw attention to significant trends and Improvements
Health & Safety Training
•To identify the training needs for employees & contractors and develop a training matrix.
•Liase with department managers to nominate employees & contractors for training courses.
•Design, develop, upgrade content on safety training and impart training as required.
•To monitor training and report progress on training against the annual targets to the Brewery Health and Safety Committee.
•To develop a system to ensure that all employees & contractors are inducted on health and safety requirements of the company.
•To lead H&S Campaigns and awareness programs for brewery in coordination with OpCo SHE Manager
Work environment
•To monitor work environment parameters e.g. workplace noise, illumination, heat, humidity, indoor air quality, ergonomics, industrial hygiene etc.
•Prepare and keep the PPE matrix covering the entire premises based on risk assessment of the respective area/activity.
•Ensure compliance to all occupational health and statutory processes related to it.
Management of Change
•Implement HNK requirement on management of change. To have a systematic approach to ensure that any refurbishment and new project work is reviewed for health and safety at planning stage. All the risks induced by the change must be identified and addressed adequately throughout the span of the change.
•To develop a system to ensure that any change or introduction in man, material, machine, method& environment etc. is to be reviewed for health and safety at planning stage. All the risks induced by the change must be identified and addressed adequately throughout the span of the change.
Fire Prevention and Emergency Planning
•To develop a system to ensure Fire detection, protection and firefighting equipment’s are maintained and in working condition at any point of time.
•To develop a system to ensure that fire drills, mock drills and evacuation drill are carried out in the premises at defined intervals, reported adequately and review & improve its effectiveness
•To monitor and track the status of property score of the brewery given by Global Insurance
•To Support engineering team for planning, implementation of action plan as per HNK guidelines and standards to improve on property score.
•To Coordinate property score audit at brewery and ensure continual improvement.
•To develop a system to ensure that all possible emergencies are identified, listed and onsite/offsite plans are prepared, and regular mock drills are conducted to ensure effectiveness of the system.
Cority System Management
•Report incidents, near-miss, fire, metrices, in Cority system
•Classify and Complete the Incident investigation and submit all incidents within specified timelines
•Coordinate with Brewery leadership to close their actionable in system and act as a system expert in brewery
•Support OpCo to maintain system hygiene and deliverables
•Report site H&S metrics monthly into Cority system and communicate the same to the brewery health and safety committee.
•Prepare the initial and final safety alerts with RCA and CAPA within the defined timelines in line with HNK standards
Global Safety/HNK Program Management
•To initiate and implement systematic roll out of HNK safety program at brewery as and when rolled out by region safety team
•To conduct baseline self-assessment (HeiQuest) for each rolled out program
•To support proper planning and deployment of resources for all HNK programs.
•To ensure regular monitoring & self-assessment of HNK Programs.
•To drive year on year improvement in all rolled out programs.
•To Coordinate audit as per OpCo plan.
•Drive 8 critical Safe Work Permit, Safe Intervention, Machinery Safety, Work at Height, Confined Space, contractor Safety Management, Process Safety and Road Safety standards
Fleet Safety
•To facilitate in developing a system to manage movement and maneuvering of vehicles inside brewery premises.
•To facilitate in developing a system to eliminate FLT- Truck/pedestrian interaction
•To educate drivers on defensive driving and road safety requirements in line with Standards
•To educate drivers and helpers on HNK working at height requirements.
•To Facilitate in developing a system to ensure safety during loading, unloading operations.
•To implement systems to ensure safe loading, unloading of hazardous materials like LPG, HCL, HSD, Caustic, Ammonia and other chemicals as per legal requirements.
