Join our Team

The opportunity
Are you passionate about sustainability and enjoy working with data? Do you thrive in complex environments where precision, structure, and collaboration are key to success? GFMC Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility at Ericsson is seeking an ESG Controller to join our ESG & Sustainability Reporting team.
This is a data-centric, high-impact role with broad exposure across Ericsson’s global operations. You’ll collaborate with subject matter experts in environmental and social sustainability, business ethics, and corporate governance to help shape and ensure the quality of our ESG disclosures.
You’ll play a critical role in defining, collecting, and validating ESG data, ensuring its accuracy, completeness, and verifiability. Your work will directly support fact-based decision-making and the creation of trustworthy reports for Ericsson and our stakeholders. You'll also contribute to the development of data systems and automated workflows, improving the efficiency and reliability of our ESG data infrastructure.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, analytical, structured, and a self-starter with excellent communication skills. You will be interacting with stakeholders across business units and geographies—so the ability to explain data needs clearly and foster collaboration is essential.

What you will do
•    Define and develop key ESG performance indicators for internal and external reporting
•    Establish and document clear ESG reporting principles and data collection guidelines
•    Communicate data requirements and expectations to internal stakeholders across the organization
•    Consolidate, validate, and analyse ESG data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and verifiability
•    Support external assurance activities by working closely with auditors to enable efficient, value-adding reviews and take lead on improvement areas.
•    Take ownership of the day-to-day use and continuous improvement of ESG data collection tools and systems
•    Drive automation and process improvements to enhance data quality, traceability, and efficiency

You will bring
•    A detail-oriented, analytical mindset with a passion for data integrity and structure
•    Proven experience with ESG/sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, CSRD/ESRS)
•    Hands-on experience managing large, complex datasets—ideally from roles in analysis, auditing, or accounting
•    High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a strong understanding of internal controls within reporting contexts
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-experts
•    High degree of professionalism, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive information
•    University degree in business administration, accounting/auditing, or related field
•    Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in ESG reporting, financial control, or data analysis
•    Fluency in business English, both written and verbal
•    Background in auditing, accounting, or financial/business control is a merit
•    Track record of leading global projects or cross-functional initiatives is a merit
•    Experience with ERP systems or similar data/reporting infrastructure implementations is a merit
•    Familiarity with the Information, Communication and Technology sector and/or Telecommunication’s industry is a plus.
