The Opportunity

This position works out of our Westfield, IN location in the Structural Heart Division.  

Main Purpose of Role

As the Equipment Technician, you’ll be responsible for performing functions associated with all equipment manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up, process troubleshooting and calibration and maintenance tasks. Provides technical support related to equipment and processes utilized in the manufacturing areas by repairing, maintaining or modifying production equipment utilizing technical expertise, technical manuals, schematic drawing, precision tools, test equipment and manufacturing procedures. Determines and assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Works with engineers conducting experiments, continuous improvement projects and validations.

What You’ll Work On

Responds to assembly line issue calls, by diagnosing equipment problems, process issues and performing the necessary repairs or modifications and documents the corrective actions takenPerforms equipment setup and validations.Documents and reviews equipment qualifications and upgrades made to existing machines, including preventive maintenance performed and parts used, to ensure appropriate documentation of repair history in the maintenance databaseInstalls and validates equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and /or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedureEvaluates operating data using statistical tools to conduct on-line adjustments to process, products, material, instruments, or equipment.Develops or revises documents and procedures.Certifies manufacturing associates in the production processesProvides equipment development engineers with feedback on equipment issues and offers suggestions for improving equipment uptime including modifying existing assembly lines or workstations as required to accommodate manufacturing demandsEvaluates process changes to ensure the maintenance of the validated state of the equipment, process and product.Applies broad knowledge of general technical concepts and practices and a general understanding of product or systems fundamentals.Utilizes increased knowledge of numerical and statistical data and Computer software programs to resolve non-routine/moderately complex problemsPerforms this job in a quality system environment, as failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.Performs non-routine to moderately complex technical assignments using standard methods and sequences.Performs set-up, testing, repair, inspection and/or maintenance of all are-specific equipment, materials, systems, and /or product.Makes process and equipment adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.Assignments require broad judgment in troubleshooting proven processes as well as the ability to suggest alternativesIdentifies and implements corrective actions for manufacturing related issues using standard methodology.Performs equipment setup and corrective, preventive and calibration maintenance as necessaryResponds to assembly line issue calls, by diagnosing equipment problems, process issues and performing the necessary repairs or modifications and documents the corrective actions takenDocuments and reviews equipment qualifications and upgrades made to existing machines, including preventive maintenance performed and parts used, to ensure appropriate documentation of repair history in the maintenance databaseInstalls and validates equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and /or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedureEvaluates operating data using statistical tools to conduct on-line adjustments to process, products, material, instruments, or equipment.Develops or revises documents and procedures.Certifies manufacturing associates in the production processesProvides equipment development engineers with feedback on equipment issues and offers suggestions for improving equipment uptime including modifying existing assembly lines or workstations as required to accommodate manufacturing demandsEvaluates process changes to ensure the maintenance of the validated state of the equipment, process and product.Ensures escalation process is followed and complete in a timely manner for scrap/availability issuesApplies broad knowledge of general technical concepts and practices and a general understanding of product or systems fundamentals.Utilizes increased knowledge of numerical and statistical data and Computer software programs to resolve non-routine/moderately complex problemsPerforms this job in a quality system environment, as failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.Performs non-routine to moderately complex technical assignments using standard methods and sequences.Performs set-up, testing, repair, inspection and/or maintenance of all are-specific equipment, materials, systems, and /or product.Makes process and equipment adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.Assignments require broad judgment in troubleshooting proven processes as well as the ability to suggest alternatives.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 6am - 2:30 pm with potential overtime.

Required Qualifications

H.S. diploma or equivalent plus 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination.Two-year degree or some college credits preferred.Applies solid knowledge of business concepts, procedures and practices, and a complete understanding fundamentals in a functional area, and working knowledge of other related disciplines.Will perform this job in a quality system environment.

The base pay for this position is $18.65 – $37.35 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
