The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Entry/Mid-Level Mechanical or Marine Engineer to support multiple U.S. Navy and Military Sealift Command (MSC) programs. In this role, you will contribute to the design, validation, and optimization of systems on a range of naval and marine vessels, including aircraft carriers, combatants, amphibious ships, auxiliary vessels, and specialized mission ships. You will work on critical systems such as compressed air, lubricating and fuel oils, hydraulics, cooling and heating water, and HVAC—all essential to maintaining the functionality and mission of these vessels across their entire lifecycle, from concept design and construction through to fleet support.
Responsibilities:
System Design & Documentation: Design and review marine auxiliary and piping systems, analyze preliminary and functional design documentation, and create system specifications for naval and commercial vessels.
• Technical Analysis & Support: Review and analyze mechanical, electrical propulsion, and auxiliary/piping systems. Develop technical data packages to support vessel design, construction, and maintenance.
• Engineering Services: Provide comprehensive support in areas such as specification writing, system design, system modeling, mechanical calculations, outfitting design, marine drawings, record drawing updates, ship checks, and technical document preparation, all aligned with drawing standards and marine design best practices.
• Test Procedures & Evaluation: Write test procedures, compile and evaluate design and test data, and prepare technical specifications to ensure systems meet required performance and safety standards.
• Research and Development: Plan, design, develop, modify, and evaluate auxiliary systems, mechanical and electro-mechanical components, controls, engines, machines, and thermal hydraulic systems for naval vessels.

Shipboard and/or shipyard experience
Experience with US Navy and/or US commercial ship design standards.
Experience with Military Sealift Command (MSC) marine engineering practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with industry-standard engineering design and modeling software, including AutoCAD, PIPE-FLO, ShipConstructor, NAVISWORKS, or similar tools for system design and analysis.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
