Summary of the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Transformation and Strategy Lead to join our team. This pivotal role will be responsible for spearheading operational modernization projects and other transformative engineering initiatives. The successful candidate will engage and collaborate with the leads of various engineering groups, including Product Development, Cloud Operations, Platform Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, and Cloud Operations. This role will report to the Head of Engineering and will be an integral part of the engineering leadership team.

Our company is embarking on the next phase of a multi-year transformation program, focused on revolutionizing and modernizing our cloud operations through the use of automation, AI, and contemporary engineering practices. The objective is to fully embrace a DevOps culture and practice within the organization.

 In this role you’ll:

Serve as the technical lead on the operational modernization project, engaging with the operational vendor to evaluate, provide feedback, direction, and approval for technical decisions on key transformation workstreams.

Collaborate with engineering leads to drive transformation projects and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Manage knowledge transfer process and framework to manage sharing details of changes as a result of transformation projects to the impacted teams and groups

Act as the AI engineering lead, working with other parts of the business to adopt and leverage AI in business, engineering, and operations.

Lead and manage cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact engineering projects.

Develop and implement strategies focused on modernization and engineering efficiency projects within the organization.

Communicate progress on engineering initiatives to senior leadership and address any inefficiencies or issues in transformation programs in a timely manner

Manage the engineering strategic portfolio, identifying programs to improve engineering efficiency, quality, and costs by working closely with leaders from engineering, business, and delivery.

Stay at the forefront of emerging cloud technologies, engineering practices, and disruptive technology trends, specifically focused on Cloud SaaS solutions and services.

About the ideal candidate:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science and/or equivalent work experience

15 or more years of experience in software development or related engineering.

Strong experience in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, with a preference for Azure.

Proficiency in .Net, C#, Kubernetes, Docker, and other cloud technologies.

Proven track record of leading and managing engineering transformation projects.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Proven ability to work with senior and executive leadership both internally and with key vendor partners.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Proven analytical skills to evaluate and make decisions on technical and strategic initiatives.

Experience working across multiple cultures and within a global organization.

Proven experience of leading, managing, and coaching teams located across multiple locations.

Senior management background with at least 5 years at the Director level within an organization.

Experience with AI and machine learning technologies.

Experience in working on SaaS-based enterprise products and services.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
