Purpose Statement
Provide electro-technical support to production areas, ensuring that all production machines and peripheral equipment are functioning and in good working condition. This applies to the electrical and electronic functioning of the equipment, supporting continuous, safe, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure shift personnel adhere to machine electrical safety protocols, including keeping electrical cabinets locked, not bypassing electrical safeties and interlocks, and following the LOTOTO process.
Lead and deliver electro-technical services to production areas to maximize machine availability throughout the shift.
Coordinate with shift technicians to support all IWS activities, report and resolve breakdowns, and minimize production impact.
Oversee defect identification, recording, and resolution on machines, ensuring accurate fault lists and effective repairs.
Perform maintenance on production machines and peripheral equipment as per the maintenance plan to ensure machine integrity.
Supervise inspection of assigned production equipment and update documentation, software, and drawings as needed.
Coordinate installation and upgrades of equipment and peripheral systems.
Train new electronic technicians in fault finding and maintenance; ensure all personal training is completed according to plan.
Actively participate in waste reduction initiatives and team talks for effective knowledge sharing.
Comply with BAT and EHS procedures, including 5S principles.
Assist other departments with projects and technical investigations as required.
Provide technical support to ensure uninterrupted machine operation and achievement of production quantity and quality targets.
Contribute to continuous improvement of machines and processes.
Maintain safety and hygiene in all responsible areas and comply with occupational safety, health, and environmental rules.
Accurately and promptly complete all required reports and checklists.
Complete assigned tasks in IWS workflows (Centerline, Clean, Inspect & Lubricate, Defect Handling, Incident Elimination, Changeover, Maintenance Planning & Scheduling, Change Management, DDS, Shiftly DDS) within the shift.
People Results
Provide on-the-floor coaching to deliver results.
Demonstrate a service-minded and teamwork approach when interacting with other functions, technicians, line structure, and maintenance lead.
Coordinate with IWS pillar leads on implementing 90-Day action plans.
Support and lead portions of the Production Engineering 90-Day Action Plan.
Act as a role model within the organization, inspiring the team by exemplifying BAT guiding principles.
Foster an environment of continuous improvement, sharing best practices and knowledge with other departments and BAT locations.
Required Qualifications
Higher electrical or similar diploma
At least 2 years of work experience in the manufacturing industry.
Deep technical knowledge and interest in electrical/electronic systems.
Understanding of operational and business strategies.
