This is an exciting opportunity to join the Mars Wrigley factory in Slough. The primary responsibility of the role is to maintain plant equipment and fix electrical/mechanical issues sitewide. For this role a strong electrical bias with control/automation skill will be required, along with an intermediate level of mechanical expertise.
Working as part of a highly skilled and well-established engineering team, you will be accountable for maintaining plant equipment and fixing electrical/control issues sitewide.
The role will mainly focus on providing equipment troubleshooting and reactive maintenance. As troubleshooting requirements are accomplished, the engineer will change focus toward preventive maintenance activities.
What are we looking for?Advanced Electrical skills along with intermediate control/automation skills.
Electrical Engineering Qualification such as Served Apprenticeship, HNC, NVQ or equivalent. Ideally with 18th Edition.
Ability to confidently diagnose and resolve Electrical and Control/Automation issues ideally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Experience diagnosing complex PLC faults preferably Allen Bradley – desirable
Individuals that are motivated to make an impact with great customer focus that works well with people.
Experienced in complex problem solving.
What would be your key responsibilities?Electrical fault finding/diagnosis, safety circuits and resolving technical failures on production machinery including non like for like changes.
Fault finding Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, Modicon automation including communication protocols such as; Ethernet, Devicenet, Profibus.
Priority setting supporting breakdowns and focus where necessary while being the escalation point for side wide electrical issues.
Detailed reporting and recording of maintenance work using our SAP system.
Provide technical support and coaching to assist others in resolution of equipment failures with Safety and Quality in mind.
Drive and participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen).
Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis on major unplanned breakdowns and recurring problems and undertake preventative maintenance activities, repairs, filler jobs etc.
Work with engineering on specific electrical and or controls projects from design to startup, including HMI/PLC programming/fault diagnostics (predominantly AB), installation, checkout, start-up, and training.
