DOD Strategic Senior Buyer - Evernorth - Hybrid

POSITION SUMMARY

The DOD Strategic Senior Buyer provides advanced professional input to complex Procure-to-Pay assignments/projects. Supports and provides direction to more junior professionals. Works autonomously, only requiring “expert” level technical support from others.  Exercises judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of both standard and complex techniques and procedures. Manages large projects or processes. Utilizes in-depth professional knowledge and acumen to develop models and procedures, and monitor trends, within Procure-to-Pay.

This role supports the DOD client replenishment inventory model. Primary responsibility is to ensure the client’s preferred NDC is holding the correct supporting amount of replenishment owed (RO) inventory.  This role requires being proactive and strategic in avoiding and mitigating financial risk.  Additionally, this role will facilitate and communicate all client facing reporting related to the DOD replenishment inventory model. This position develops competence by performing structured work assignments; interprets existing procedures to solve standard and complex problems with limited instruction, guidance and/or direction from others. Proficiency in this role requires exercising independent judgment and critical thinking within the company guidelines while maintaining a professional presence to both internal and external customer base.

This position is in office aligned and will require the flexibility to perform onsite 3 days per week at one of the following facilities: 

Florence, NJSt. Louis, MOTempe, AZWhitestown, IN

Primary Functions

Manage day-to-day movement of replenishment owed (RO) inventory using the Oracle operating platform.Facilitating and communicating the client’s NDC change processes.Supporting the client’s preferred RO NDC list.Generating RO financial risk reporting.Managing approval process for financial risk modeling with related business partners.Effectively building internal/external relationships with cross-functional business partners to include but not limited to: Home Delivery Purchasing, related Accounting/Finance partners, Federal Account team, Drug File, the client’s National Prime Vendor, and the DOD client.Management of obsolete/discontinued RO, latent RO, and excess RO.Supporting client value opportunity initiatives.Day-to-day facilitation and communication of client’s contractually required reporting.Act as a trusted contact for Account Team related to RO, inventory, client reporting, and client requests.Special projects as needed.

Key Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred3+ years relevant purchasing experience.Prior government and or 340B experience a plus.Demonstrated financial acumen related to traditional and non-traditional inventory models.Demonstrated ability to evaluate and manage supplier relations and overall understanding of contracts and the contracting process.Ability to interface with internal/external customers and suppliers in a professional and ethical manner.Experience with Oracle or related inventory management systemIntermediate proficiency with MS Office software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
