\nJoin our Global Network Operations Programs (GNOP) team as a Director, driving our Denied Party, Sanctions, and Embargoes (DPSE) compliance efforts. This role supports the design, enhancement and governance of trade compliance systems and processes, aligning DHL’s global operations with evolving regulatory requirements.
\nThe Global Network Operations Programs Group (GNOP) executes FOCUS by identifying and managing programs of change that enable Global Network Operations to achieve standardized processes, service excellence, optimal efficiency and lowest operating cost.
\nGNOP support of the full end-to-end scope of Global Network Operations, is constantly aligned with Global Network Operations' priorities and aligns with the other DHL Express functions to deliver improvements that are aligned on purpose, objectives and support the business needs. On behalf of the Global Network Operations group, we work closely with the various Business and IT teams, driving change of both a business operations process and IT solution nature.
\nThe role of the GNOP Director is to ensure a sound understanding of business process and applications within the scope (see above Specific Context) of the role and how they are architected, developed, deployed and used (emphasis) by the business. You will be responsible for ensuring multiple (large) projects/products running simultaneously across the organization deliver individually as expected and conform to an agreed overall roadmap that directs wider change over the short to medium term.
\nThe role combines project/product management skills with subject matter expertise to translate quickly developing business demands into the right IT and business solutions and/or process.
\nThe role holder must manage all their relevant projects/programs/products in terms of senior stakeholder engagement, scope, inter-dependencies, costs, resources, and overall deliver to objectives and goals ensuring that any changes to Global SOP process/Standards and EGAP systems are documented and approved.
\nWork with and guide the global/regional and country deployment teams to ensure rapid deployment and realisation of business benefits derived from the new capabilities and processes.

\nSpecific Role Context & Purpose
\n\nThe Global Network Operations Programs Group (GNOP) enables DHL Express to operate with integrity, efficiency, and full compliance in a complex global regulatory environment.\nThis Director role, part of the GNOP team, will be focused (initially, as scope can change according to needs) on Denied Party Screening, Sanctions, and Embargoes to ensure DHL’s operations consistently meet international legal obligations related to export controls, trade sanctions, and embargoed party regulations.\nThis role is responsible for developing, maintaining and continuously improving the global compliance framework for denied party screening, sanctions enforcement, and embargo compliance. Acting as a trusted partner to the Trade Compliance Centres and Global Network Operations, the Director ensures that controls are embedded into business processes, supported by effective IT solutions, and deployed with measurable impact across regions and countries.\nThe role requires an understanding of global trade regulations, screening tools, and operational risk management. The Director will lead complex, multi-stakeholder programs, ensuring alignment with business goals while proactively mitigating regulatory and reputational risks. This includes driving standardization, overseeing governance of sanctions-related SOPs and systems (e.g., EGAP), and ensuring all changes are fully documented and approved.\nThrough collaboration with internal stakeholders (RTC centres, Legal, Compliance, IT, and Regional Ops teams) and where required external regulators, the Director ensures DHL maintains best-in-class compliance systems/process while enabling seamless global trade. The role also supports the rapid deployment and realization of business value from compliance solutions, delivering clear, scalable, and auditable processes across the network. \n\n\n\n\n\nHow will you contribute to the success of DHL?\n\n\nProject/Program Management: Responsible for overall business projects/program management ensuring task assignments are clear and all objectives met: Program/Project governance, organisation, plans, risks, Issues and reporting/communicating progress, and where needed contingency plans. \nStakeholder Engagement: You will be aware of and manage the rich variety of stakeholders involved in delivery of programs and projects. This is to align and gain buy-in to roadmaps, their timescales, resulting business changes and impact on resources (customer, business, IT, vendor) as well as benefits \nProduct Management: You will in your work be the subject matter expert on specific or groups of applications/products and manage the roadmap and enhancement of those same products. \nDirect (and indirect) team management: Where requested, project team identification and on-boarding. Assemble, manage and coach the indirect/direct team (remote where applicable) and have active interest in the wider Global Programs and Ops community. \nConduct Regional and Facility Network Operations (onsite) Reviews as needed to ensure full operations alignment, support requirements definition (workshops) and beta deployments. \nBusiness analysis, process review and requirements definition: Drive innovative ideas, solutions and products through leadership and action. New Processes and functions, Innovation, Regulatory, Costs reduction and Productivity improvement are factors for considerations. Ensure Global SOP is aligned with changes and updated. \nUser group management and communication: Functional input, changes management, prioritisation, project participation (testing) and progress transparency via regular reporting \nDefining the Roadmap, Portfolio Program Management & Prioritisation: Define, represent and communicate programs strategy(ies) to all stakeholders. Implement harmonized program management process acting on a clear roadmap of deliverables, change and improvement, whilst balancing plans, strategy and criticality. \nSoftware Development cycle participation: From idea/concept to launch of the capabilities across all areas within the domain. Business case, Project Brief/PID, Business project management, Process, Requirements, Testing and Acceptance to Training and Deployment preparation. \nDeployment preparation and support: Ensure relevant training materials are available, conduct beta/pilots, preparing regions/country to deploy, support deployment with SMEs \nPost program/project implementation and follow-up: Functional reviews, ensure correct application/usage of process/software, initiate corrective measures. \nSupport contingency operations for process and EGAP relevant issues: Support any contingency (or similar) analysis and actions with end to end knowledge and corrective measures. \nOperate in a customer focused, multi-national, Multi-Cultural environment - Internal and External\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDo you have what it takes?\n\n\nProfessional Project Management certification preferred, but not mandatory. (eg PRINCE2) \nPreference for bachelor’s degree in business, Law, Compliance, International Trade, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered. \nPreferred certification or experience in requirements analysis/gathering, process definition and related work.\nA minimum of 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years’ project/program management experience \nProven experience in managing business processes, requirements gathering, testing, and deployment of compliance or operational tools (e.g., EGAP systems) \nAs a minimum, experience across country and regional level with Global Experience preferred. \nDemonstrated leadership in regional and/or global roles, preferably within cross-border operations or regulatory program delivery.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDHL is an equal opportunity employer.
