MTS Overview:
Mastercard Transaction Services (MTS) and its subsidiaries are the legal entities under which all of Mastercard’s licensed money transfer and payment initiation services will be conducted, reporting into the Commercial and New Payments Platform (CNPF) division. The MTS business unit and the MTS shared services functions are housed under the umbrella of MTS and are comprised of components central to the activities of a licensed payment services firm. These components include:
•\tPayment/Money transmitter licenses for operating payments business in defined jurisdictions
•\tContract definition (associated T&Cs) specific to the MTS entity and its umbrella geographies
•\tAssociated settlement accounts and other services for the relevant MTS entity
•\tCompliance services including, but not limited to, due diligence, real-time sanctions screening/AML/fraud management, etc.
•\tRegulatory reporting to the relevant regulators on behalf of the regulated business and its subsequent activities
MTS US is the authorized and regulated licensed entity within Mastercard Transaction Services (MTS) through which regulated payments activity is undertaken for our US-based customers and others around the world. MTS is a division within Mastercard that undertakes payments business wherever a product or business function requires regulated support.

Role Summary:
The Mastercard Transaction Services (MTS) Compliance team is looking for a Digital Currency Enablement, Director who will work with digital currencies and blockchain technology to prevent bad actors from exploiting the Mastercard Transaction Services platform. The candidate will drive our stablecoin solution strategy with internal and external customers by innovating and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.

Candidate will focus on implementing, scaling and maintaining the new stablecoin solution. Candidate will coordinate with various Mastercard and MTS functions and ensure all risks are mitigated. The candidate will report directly to the US AML/BSA Officer and ensure the successful deployment of the initiative.
•\tThe Director position combines strong understanding and facilitates the development of the digital currency initiative within the MTS regulated rails, identifies process efficiency and the project delivery lifecycle experience alongside knowledge of Legal, Regulatory and Compliance laws and methodologies
•\tReporting to and working closely with the BSA Officer to focus on continuous improvements of MTS integration, standards and processes by designing and leveraging enhanced capabilities and tools (Elliptic)
•\tThe role will ensure that internal and external customer needs are translated into tangible process improvement activities, establishing and executing clear implementation plans
•\tThe candidate in this role will interactive with regulators and also work across Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, and Product/Shared Services on other joint Crypto initiatives as appropriate

Role Responsibilities:
•\tRepresent MTS Compliance in the design, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Digital Currency Enablement initiative including the onboarding and monitoring of customers and their related transactions
•\tEnsure all Compliance related documentation including, policy, procedures, risk assessments, training is in full compliance with regulatory expectations (e.g., NYDFS)
•\tTranslates business/customer needs into process improvement objectives, and establishes/coordinates a plan for implementation
•\tAct as a consultant and partner to Mastercard product lines which are targeting Cryptocurrency regulated funds transfers and flows, to help them understand the challenges of operating a regulated money transfer business and helping to address them by ‘building on’ the capabilities of MTS Platform
•\tSupport development of the investment case for the MTS platform and services capabilities
•\tOptimize business processes to achieve more efficient results including establishing standard processes and best practices
•\tOwn the enhancement and evolve the ‘look and feel’ of existing collateral with a focus on digital for ease of access
•\tDefine where we can become leaner and automate together with Mastercard teams build joint initiatives
•\tLeverage industry tools and methodologies to develop a “State of the Art” Compliance program that mitigates crypto related risks
•\tWorking with the Development and Engineering teams, and the MTS platform team, to ensure that the MTS platform capabilities are developed to specification


Qualifications:
•\tBachelor’s degree in related field
•\tExcellent written/oral communication skills for documentation, reports and presentations
•\tSignificant background in crypto currencies, regulated payments and financial services, especially money transfer payment systems
•\tBeneficial experience of card payments, digital commerce, and MA products; Ideally including Crypto payments, Blockchain Analytics, Cross border payments or other regulated payment flows.
•\tSolid understanding of competitive offerings and industry trends, especially how regulation is impacting the payments industry at both the local and global levels
•\tWorking knowledge of a regulated environment
•\tSelf-motivated with a proven track record of delivering success while working within a matrixed and team environment
•\tSuperior communication, presentation and interpersonal skills including the ability to work with and influence colleagues at all levels
•\tExcellent problem-solving skills
•\tCapable of process identification and mapping
•\tWorking knowledge of SharePoint development
•\tDigitally aware and experienced with process improvement, automation of manual processes and use of technology to generate efficiencies and scalable outcomes
•\t Highly competent in use of MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
