Job Title: DevOps Engineer 

Location: Palo Alto, CA 

Work Model: Hybrid work model 

 

Purpose and Objective:   

SAP Labs, LLC seeks a DevOps Engineer at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of customer environments in Cloud of respective product lines and to ensure the delivery according to defined Service Level Agreements.  

 

Expectations and Tasks:  

Utilize various technologies (e.g. database, platform) used by development and operations. Drive for automation and standardization. Collaborate with engineering and product management as well as other service groups. Improve system landscape support in the assigned functional areas of responsibility. Independent assurance of effective system operations along the software lifecycle. Provide knowledge management in the team and between operations and development. Ensure excellent quality and maintain high standards in all processes listed in the relevant process map. Contribute to operations model/operational processes and procedures. Perform project and program management.  

 

Education and Occupational Experience:  

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study. 

 

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:  

Prior experience, internship or academic coursework to include each of the following: 

Programming languages including Java, Scala, and Python; 

PostgreSQL and Redis Databases; 

Google Cloud Platform, Azure, and AWS; 

Develop software projects in an Agile approach; 

Define user stories and lead live demos for potential customers; 

Utilize JIRA and GitHub project management tools; 

Automated testing techniques; and 

Develop event triggered architecture, including publish and subscription.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $115,740 - $196,740. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $128,600 - $218,600. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
