Job DescriptionPosition Overview
We are looking for a committed and knowledgeable Deploy Chapter Champion (DCC) for the General Ledger and GATE (Global Accounting Template Enablement) areas, to support the successful deployment of SAP S/4HANA Finance processes within a global transformation program. This role is central in ensuring that the global template is understood, applied, and adapted where needed, in alignment with legal and business requirements.
The DCC acts as the content lead for deployment in General Ledger and GATE, facilitating fit-to-standard workshops, identifying deviations, and ensuring consistency between the standard template and the local implementation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Functional Leadership – General Ledger & GATE
Act as the primary contact for all content-related questions in General Ledger and GATE processes within the S4 deployment.Ensure that the standard global accounting template is understood and correctly interpreted by all stakeholders.Monitor alignment between local business needs and the global template, flagging any required deviations with justification (e.g. legal, compliance).Drive clarification of open topics together with central teams, ensuring resolution before handover to Design & Build.Provide hands-on support in documenting legal and business deviations in Azure Boards (Deviation-to-Standard tab).2. Workshop & Documentation Management
Lead discovery workshops for General Ledger and GATE content, in close collaboration with Key Users and Country Experts.Ensure the Fit-to-Standard (F2S) analysis is properly conducted, including:Reviewing answers from Key Users.Identifying and validating gaps/deviations.Ensuring completeness and clarity of documentation in Azure.Coordinate the preparation of Business Requirements (BRs) for confirmed deviations.3. Quality & Process Governance
Support the project in achieving high-quality documentation, timely BR creation, and standard alignment.Promote and enforce adherence to central deployment methodology and templates.Identify cross-process implications (e.g. GL postings related to MM/SD/CO) and collaborate with other DCCs to ensure consistency.Ensure all S4 deployment governance rules are respected within General Ledger & GATE domains.4. Post Go-live & Transition Support
Support the validation of migrated master and transactional data, ensuring compliance with S/4HANA General Ledger design principles.Act as a content authority during hypercare, supporting issue resolution related to GL & GATE topics.
QualificationsEducation:
University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or Business Informatics.Knowledge and Skills:
Solid expertise in SAP FI – General Ledger, with specific understanding of New GL functionalities, Ledger concepts, and document splitting.Strong understanding of the GATE framework, standard chart of accounts, and global accounting design principles.Familiarity with cross-process dependencies (MM, SD, CO integration with FI).Experience with SAP deployment projects, ideally in a global context.Competency in project collaboration tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, SAP Solution Manager).Personality Traits:
Structured and analytical approach, able to navigate complex topics.Excellent communication and coordination skills, especially in multicultural environments.Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership.Strong commitment to quality and documentation.Fluent in English (spoken and written).Travel Requirement:
