The CSIS Executive Protection Security Officer is a senior level role responsible for the support of Citi Executive Protection. The overall objective is to provide high level Executive Protection and ensure the overall safety of Citi Executives as directed. Provide physical coverage for identified Citi Principals during domestic and international travel. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact to achieve the objectives of the function.
Accountable for delivery of a full range of protective services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally and externally, often at a senior level. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, planning and execution. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Establish and maintain high-level relationships with law enforcement authorities, first responder agencies, government officials and key business support entities.
Responsibilities:
Complies with all policies required to meet organizational goals to eliminate or reduce threats and vulnerabilities.Provide day-to-day executive protection services on identified PrincipalsAlways Assume responsibility for the safety of Principals, including personal security, privacy, and confidentiality of business and personal mattersManage day-to-day operational activities within span of control, to include protective advances, emergency response, crisis management and recovery functions, across multiple locations.Continually identify, evaluate, and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities, and provide Executive Protection Operations & Logistics Manager the information they need to make critical decisionsDisplay fiscal and budgetary discipline to meet expected spend patterns, achieve goals, and remain within defined budget parametersAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Complete all administrative requirements as required within the Executive Protection Program.Qualifications:
10+ years relevant experience in a private/public sector security environmentProfessional Security certifications preferredExperience working in a corporate or financial services security teamFormer Law Enforcement, Military or Government AgentExperience in the close personal protection of high-profile principals in domestic and international settingsProven ability to execute efficiently under tight time constraintsProven ability to foster relationships and interface with external agencies to promote functional excellenceExperience in promoting a culture of a strong security risk and control environmentDemonstrated a broad understanding of security vulnerabilities and crisis principlesArticulated an understanding of potential security or safety threats, local threats based on geographic location and their impactDemonstrated in-depth understanding of risk management and innovatively develops solutions and makes suggestions to senior management to mitigate risksExperience in conducting protective advances and completing site surveys to identify risk and plan a protective strategy accordinglyExperience with planning and organization of multiple complex projects simultaneouslyExperience in Office, Excel, and PowerPointExcellent communications skillsCurrent CPR and AED certificationAbility to obtain TSA/ASO certificationEducation:
Bachelor's degree, master’s degree preferred, plus equivalent work experiencePreferred Experience and Skills:
Experience in adhering current security protocols, operations manuals, and guidesDemonstrated experience in making sound judgements at a moment’s noticeHas maintained corporate assets, to include lease vehicles and equipment in a state of perpetual readiness enough to meet or surpass requirementsCan articulate basic understanding of security vulnerabilities and suggests preventative measures to assist in the mitigation of these potential risksExperience in working with security & safety technologyDemonstrated ability to follow security and safety instructions and procedures; reporting anything out of the ordinary to management and obey rules and regulations set out in delegations of duty, verbal instructions and company policiesKnowledge of realistic self-defense tactics2nd language skillsPhysical & Other Requirements:
