**The main PURPOSES** of this role are to lead Abbott’s operations in Belgium and Luxembourg to achieve financial and strategic goals, as well as ensure compliance with corporate policies and local regulations, supported by cross-functional teams.
You will drive market growth by understanding healthcare dynamics and identifying opportunities to expand market share. Develop strategic objectives and translate them into actionable plans to grow sales and profitability. Build and lead a high-performing team through effective hiring, coaching, and resource management.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Market & Industry Insight**
+ Stay current on heart disease therapy trends, healthcare budgets, reimbursement policies, and competitor activity.
+ Identify local market opportunities and threats.
**Stakeholder Engagement**
+ Build relationships with Government Health Care institutions, industry associations, pressure groups, regulatory bodies, medical and scientific societies and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
+ Represent Abbott’s brand and innovations to external influencers.
**Strategic & Operational Planning**
+ Conduct SWOT analyses to shape sales vision and strategic direction.
+ Align local plans with EMEA strategy and ensure team involvement in planning.
**Business & Financial Management**
+ Forecast business trends, monitor performance, and adjust plans to meet targets.
+ Manage P&L on a country level.
**Organizational Leadership**
+ Define and approve organizational structure and headcount.
+ Lead cross-functional teams, drive high performance, and ensure compliance with Abbott policies.
**Sales & Marketing Effectiveness**
+ Help sales teams apply a consultative sales process enabling them to build value propositions that maximize the attractiveness of the Abbott products.
+ Support consultative sales processes and joint customer visits.
+ Ensure adherence to sales strategies and policies.
**Compliance & Governance**
+ Ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
+ Act as a role model for ethical conduct and Abbott’s Code of Business Conduct.
**Key Requirements:**
**Education**
+ University degree in business, economics, or medical field.
**Experience**
+ 10+ years management experience within the healthcare environment, preferably in Medical Devices.
+ Market knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of the local (country/geography in scope) healthcare market, industry knowledge, physician and institutional customers and KOL management, pricing/contracting strategies and regulatory/reimbursement environment.
+ Financial performance: Proven track record (e.g. 2 of 3 prior years meeting financial Plan target) of delivering above market growth in mature and/or innovative markets and taking share from competitors.
+ Management success: Demonstrated ability to manage field sales, marketing and sales operation organizations and revenue and quickly adjust direction and resources in a dynamic and rapidly-changing market. Demonstrated success being a change agent; leading an organization by changing the focus of the organization.
+ Working across a matrix: Demonstrated effectiveness to work across a matrix organization and build relationships and network with key internal (region, division and within the company) and external stakeholders (customers, payers, industry associations, strategic partnership players, etc.)
**Competencies**
+ Strategic planning and execution.
+ Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
+ Fluent in **English and Dutch/French** is mandatory.
+ Proficient in planning, organization, and cross-functional collaboration.
