Convention Alliance Director of Business Development - Sales

The Director of Business Development will lead efforts to increase sales, revenue, and group and event marketing
for Hyatt Convention Alliance (HCA) through strategic planning, and development of new group business and the
expansion of existing group business.
The Director of Business Development will work alongside the HCA Directors of Sales & Marketing. Specifically, the
Director of Business Development will include the following tasks:
+ Develop complete knowledge / understanding of the 11 Hyatt Convention Alliance hotels, including
+ comprehensive individual hotel tours and comp set tours
+ Organize agenda and lead monthly Director of Sales & Marketing strategy calls
+ Strategize with the Directors of Sales to understand business trends (pace deficits/need periods/target markets
+ & accounts). Create and execute initiatives/action plans to target these business areas
+ Collaborate with Business Development Manager and engage with the 5 HCA Regional Teams. Develop new
+ business opportunities to be shared with the teams on a monthly basis. Track progress
+ Maintain effective working relationships with HSF and NSF Team
+ Analyze tentative/definite business to determine areas of opportunities for HCA hotels.
+ Build engagement with Event Planning Partners to ensure consistent Together by Hyatt messaging.
+ Maintain targeted customer list and next open year report
+ Fully manage HCA Signature customer events (2-3 per year), to include site selection, content development and
+ customer communication
+ Position is eligible for Hyatt’s Sales Incentive Plan including Hyatt’s Hotel to Hotel referral program for qualified
+ referrals that are sent to hotels outside the Convention Alliance as outlined in the program guidelines.
+ When requested, represent Hyatt Convention Alliance hotels at tradeshows and sales calls
**Qualifications**
- 5 years of group sales experience, preferably in large convention hotels
Hyatt Brand Development/Awareness
- Be an active member in industry organizations such as MPI, PCMA, and engage with local chapter relations
