Consumer Technical Insights (CTI) Sensory Scientist (m/f/d)

Job Description:

This role is split into two main parts - 50% of the role is dedicated to sensory and consumer methodology/capabilities development while the other 50% is responsible for internal and external sensory panel management.
 
The successful candidate will also lead projects to develop and/or pilot some of these new methodologies, tools or capabilities including deployment and training for relevant audiences once development is completed. All of this is in the context of Mars Pet Nutrition toolbox and in service of advancing Pet Nutrition capability to understand and deliver preferred user experiences for pets and pet parents. The job holder also champions the Key Quality Attributes (KQA) Community trainings and curriculum for cross-segment pack and product associates.

University degree (MS or PhD) in sensory & consumer science, food science, or related equivalentRelevant experience in R&D in a business environmentExperience in application of sensory & consumer science in R&DExperience in product development and sensory science preferredProject managementCan work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and presentation skillsFluent in English

What will be you Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the VDN internal sensory panel (aroma and discrimination tests), including managing facilities, intern and contractor, panel engagement, panel leading and results and reports writing.This role is responsible for managing the internal and external sensory panel project coordination, budget, execution and delivery of results In collaboration with external panel partners.Advise on product sensory evaluation for Global and Regional R&D projects & stakeholdersActively support R&D associate sensory trainings in developing their understanding of Mars' sensory methods, tools and capabilities via delivering aroma panel intensive training course, factory operator training, internal sensory panels and ad-hoc trainings on sensory language and sensory panel methodsEnsure knowledge and application of innovative sensory research methodologies within Mars Petcare via active participation in conferences and sensory testing research networkFunctional expert of sensory data collection softwareDevelop standard operating procedures and guidelines to support implementation and uptake of sensorySupport the KQA Champions community, trainings and curriculum for cross-segment pack and product associatesAs needed, support innovation projects in the pipeline with appropriate CTI skillset and leverage data to generate insights
