Job Description:

Place of Work: Kunoba Wereda, Afar Region

Contract Duration: Until June 30, 2025

To collect, compile and submit early warning system data from various sources at Woreda level, which include assessment and reviewing of VBT, Preparation of MBL/BDLs and sharing with Commodity teams 
Represent WVE at field level to participate in Seasonal and periodic assessments that are relevant to food assistance program 
 Support the implementation of compliance activities to ensure program accountability is ensured, requirements are met and result are delivered as per humanitarian principles, standards and procedures.
Mainstream the gender, safeguarding and protection principles and ensure its implementation at field level
Support the Food Assistance teams in mobilization, facilitation of transportation and distribution of commodities

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

Collect, compile and submit early warning data (food security status, market monitoring and malnutrition) at Woreda level in a given time frame and Documentation of all early warning system activities and sharing of lesson gained

Create awareness at Sectors and community levels on pending treats and forecasting of early warning to ensure appropriate response

Capacity building of government staff, JEOP personnel and community members to put in place effective early warning system on early warning analysis, humanitarian assistance and targeting process.

Participate in multi-agency/multi sectoral seasonal assessment and presenting the assessment findings

Support the implementation of compliance activities to ensure program accountability is ensured, requirements are met and result are delivered as per humanitarian principles, standards and procedures.

Support the Food Assistance teams in mobilization, facilitation of transportation and distribution of commodities and Validating vulnerability-based targeting and ensuring absence of inclusive and exclusive error in the process 

Required Educational Qualification and Work Experience:

Minimum of five years for B.Sc. and three years for M. Sc,

Basic English spoken and writing in addition to local language of duty station.

educational requirements: B.Sc. in Agricultural Development (Plant Science, Agronomy, Animal Science, Natural Resource, Agricultural extension, Agricultural Economics), Rural development, DRR and any other related fields. But M.Sc. is preferable.
