The communications coordinator is a key strategic staff in the Communications and Advocacy Unit, with the space to design and lead communications efforts that align with WVL advocacy and organizational strategy. A main responsibility will be to coordinate and support full implementation of WVL’s communication and visibility plan under the direction of the Communications and Advocacy manager and in collaboration with the National Director.
Coordinate, plan, and support the production of evidence-based communications resources
Develop communications and visibility and plans for Area Development Programmes and Grants in alignment with the annual programme and advocacy strategies, ENOUGH campaign, and donor and fund manager guidelinesProduce content in alignment with the C&V plans and with the ENOUGH campaign deliverablesOrganize and lead a communications training around “communications for development” for interested staff especially front liners as part of the emergency preparedness efforts.Manage communications planning and reporting trackers and ensure proper uploading (story hub and website) and archiving.Allocate new resources based on consortium initiatives and interventions.Provide feedback and revisions to outsourced and internally produced communications resourcesEnsure that a comprehensive archiving platform is created to record all the communications material developed by all partners. Drafts, design files, and final products will be documented on this platform with their relevant descriptions.Contribute to higher reach through local and international media and social media.
Coordinate and design media outreach plan and engage with journalists, including pitching project initiatives, resulting in increased positive coverage of World Vision’s work in local and national media outlets.Cultivate and nurture relationships with local journalists in activities and training as per the communications and visibility plan.Cultivate, nurture, and engage a with international and local media and press outlets representatives to establish WV as a lead information source on issues and opportunities related to its workDevelop press strategies to promote key opportunities, telling compelling stories that garner coverage through designing media kits and writing press releases and other materialsMaintain media database, including updated contact lists and documentation of media relations activities related to each contact.Develop social media strategy and establish annual calendar to that integrates key events, activities, and initiatives.Ensure efficient social media channels are selected/established. Monitor relevant digital platforms ensuring proper coordination and yielding high exposure for project.Branding, Visibility and Reporting
Develop internal and external communication, as required and in alignment with the C&V plan. Develop reporting and analysis methods on media and Social Media engagement and reach, as well as visibility.Design a communication strategy to promote WVL’s milestones and lead on WVL’s milestones visibility effortsPerform other duties as required
Attend and participate in capacity building trainings locally and internationallyAttend and participate in WVL’s spiritual nurture and other organizational eventsResponsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security cultureAbide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.Perform other duties as assigned by the Line ManagerMinimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Audio-visual, journalism, communications2 to 3 years of experience working in communications or journalism or a related field.2 to 3 years of experience working with NGOs.Proven track record of social media experience.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic. The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 70% of the time.
