DescriptionPrepare the mise en place and handle food preparation and assist with food presentation as part of the kitchen brigade.
Key Responsibilities\nPrepare kitchen equipment for use.\nAssemble and prepare ingredients for menu items.\nAssisting senior chefs in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes, including pizzas, Nigerian staples, and other menu items.\nPrepare food for service.\nAssist with checking, receiving and storing of goods.\nMaintain storage areas.\nClean kitchen and equipment.\nHandle waste and linen. \nMaintain a hygienic kitchen and high standards of personal hygiene.\nAttend all briefings.\nParticipate in training.\n
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise\nHND or Vocational School Certificate in culinary arts or a related field\n2 years of experience as a Commis Chef \nFood Handler's Certificate and HACCP certification preferred\nExperience in an F&B kitchen role\nExperience in preparing pizzas and Nigerian dishes \nAbility to work as part of a team, thrive under pressure in challenging circumstances and come up with proactive, rational solutions\nGood written and verbal communication skills\nExcellent organizational and time management skills\nApplying a professional, confidential and ethical approach at all times\nWorking in a safe, prudent and organized manner\nAbility to operate computer and office equipment\nProficiency in Excel and Word is beneficial\n
