This internship start date is last week of August 2025 or first week of September 2025.
We love our company - and our environment. Every day, we work on the latest technologies to enhance people's lives.
Let’s turn visions into reality. At Bosch Transmission Technology, we shape the future by inventing high-quality thin metal technologies that spark enthusiasm. Bosch Transmission Technology is world’s leading provider of Pushbelts for the continuously variable transmission (CVT), however our areas of activity are every bit as diverse as our outstanding colleagues. Their creativity is the key to innovation. Our responsibility goes far beyond ‘business’. We’re independent of stock markets and bound to the purpose of the Robert Bosch Foundation; our success directly benefits society, the environment, and future generations. Bosch is a rather special company. Our promise to our associates is rock-solid: we grow together, we enjoy our work, and we inspire each other. Do you want to help to shape beneficial solutions for our future?

Job DescriptionPTL Corrosion Analysis in Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Water Electrolysers
Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) water electrolysers are a key technology for sustainable hydrogen production. A critical component of these systems is the Porous Transport Layer (PTL), which facilitates efficient reactant distribution and charge transfer. However, under the highly acidic and oxidative environment of a PEM electrolyser, PTL corrosion presents a significant challenge, impacting both performance and long-term durability.
This internship focuses on analyzing the corrosion susceptibility of different PTL materials through ex-situ and in-situ electrochemical testing. The intern will conduct experiments using techniques such as Cyclic Voltammetry (CV), Potentiodynamic Polarization, and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) to characterize corrosion behavior and identify trends across various PTLs. Data analysis and interpretation will play a key role in determining the most stable materials for improved electrolyser performance. Additionally, the intern will assist in material characterization using microscopy and spectroscopy techniques to further understand degradation mechanisms.
Candidates should have a background in electrochemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or a related field. Experience with electrochemical testing and data analysis tools is a plus. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a research-oriented setting are essential. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in electrochemical corrosion analysis and materials research, contributing to the development of more durable and efficient PEM electrolysers.
