The Role

We are seekingan enthusiastic and quality-focused Chef De Partieto join the busy Event Kitchen on a Full Time basis.

Your love of handling a section will shine through in the amazing food you produce. Success in this role at Grand Hyatt Melbourne relies on your ability to create an experience through your passion for quality food. You thrive on the opportunity to teach and support our Apprentices, Commis and Demi Chefs through out their careers.

With the support of the Chef de Cuisine, and Sous Chef you will be responsible for maximising guest satisfaction by providing the highest levels of quality and consistency in the dishes produced and contributing to the overall success of the Event Kitchen team. Additional responsibilities include assisting the kitchen in lieu of kitchen management and ensuring the operation runs according to all culinary and organisational standards. Further duties include fostering a positive and productive work environment for the kitchen staff while encouraging morale.

We need someone who is skilled - work experience in a hotel, large restaurant or events venue is essentialWe need someone who's qualified - be sure to include your Culinary qualification in your resumeWe take food safety and hygiene seriously - knowledge of HACCP and Occupational Health and Safety standards is a mustWe operate in a 24/7 business - we need you to have an unrestricted working visa for Australia and availability across weekends and public holidays (we operate on a rotating roster)Must have: organisational skills, great personality, enthusiastic, ability to work under pressure, loyal, keen to learn and have technical knowledgePrevious work experience in a similar position in a fast-paced, bulk production environment (will be advantageous)

A strong attention to detail and exceptional organisational and time management skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead subordinates and delegate tasks
