Business Unit Head

Job Purpose:

 

The Business Unit Head will oversee and drive the growth of the business unit portfolio. This role focuses on maximizing profitability, leading a large team, and implementing effective marketing strategies. The Business Unit Head will ensure operational efficiency, market leadership, and alignment with corporate objectives, while fostering strong stakeholder relationships and delivering business success.       

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:
Lead the business unit, formulating and executing strategies to ensure business growth, profitability, and market leadership.
Develop and implement short- and long-term plans for the business unit, aligned with corporate goals. P&L Responsibility:
Oversee the financial performance of the business unit, including budgeting, forecasting, and driving cost-effective strategies to meet financial targets. Team Management:
Manage and mentor a large team, ensuring high performance and alignment with organizational objectives.
Lead cross-functional teams to enhance collaboration and efficiency across the business unit. Marketing & Branding:
Drive marketing strategies to promote Cardio-Metabolic and Bone & Pain therapeutic areas.
Work closely with the marketing team to develop go-to-market strategies, promotional materials, and campaigns to increase brand visibility and market share. Market Analysis & Forecasting:
Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
Provide timely reports and forecasts to the executive team on market performance and key metrics. Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, regulatory bodies, and business partners.
Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding business unit performance. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure all activities comply with relevant industry regulations and standards, particularly in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. Proactively identify and manage risks associated with business operations.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field. An MBA or other relevant advanced degree is preferred. At least 10-15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on Cardio-Metabolic and Bone & Pain therapy areas. Proven track record of managing large business units, with experience in handling significant headcount and delivering business growth. Solid background in marketing, including strategy development, campaign management, and market analysis. In-depth knowledge of the cardio-metabolic and bone & pain therapeutic areas. Strong financial acumen and experience in managing P&L. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Result-oriented with a strong drive for success and high levels of accountability.
