Business Development Director

Area of Responsibilities:

Insight Generation and Opportunity Creation

Identify and analyze trends within the pathology industry. Gather market intelligence and monitor emerging technologies. Leverage this knowledge to forge strategic partnerships that can yield new business opportunities with a significant impact.Take full responsibility for conducting high - quality, evidence - based business analyses. This includes managing the Open Innovation (OI)/Acquisition funnel, which encompasses activities such as IP license - in/out, product distribution deals, and investment deals.

Financial Analysis for Business Development

Conduct detailed financial modeling and analysis of business development opportunities. This involves tasks like valuation and financial statement analysis. Create and maintain Financial Return Models, and perform look - back analyses on past and future transactions to inform decision - making.

OI/Acquisition Deal Execution and Impact Generation

Develop a comprehensive approach for the identification, evaluation, cultivation, and management of Open Innovation and acquisition initiatives. Contribute significantly in areas such as assessing strategic fit, conducting due diligence, constructing business frameworks, creating business cases with financial analytics, and negotiating terms and contractual agreements.Be accountable for every step of evaluating, structuring, negotiating, and finalizing external OI/Acquisition business opportunities. Translate promising scientific concepts into sustainable and profitable business models, while collaborating across all relevant discipline areas that are strategically important to Leica.Execute OI/Acquisition deals and oversee at least one year of integration. Demonstrate the value of the partnership by generating an impact as per the White Paper business case.

Cross - Functional Due Diligence

Lead cross - functional due diligence efforts. Apply a deep understanding of technical, legal, financial, and market dynamics that are relevant to the final agreements. Ensure strict compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Partnership Ecosystem Management

Manage long - term, mutually beneficial partnership ecosystems. The goal is to enhance the company's extended R&D and manufacturing capabilities in China.

Required Education & Competencies:

Teamwork - must be able to lead teams from multiple disciplines and/or companies Ability to influence others - must be able to inform, convince, and persuade others to action using DBS to drive sustainable results Results orientation - must deliver sustainable results Specific technical competencies - able to master strategy development, P2P and product planning processes.  Requires foundation in marketing and sales competencies Communication - must be able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms. Excellent English Skills Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a senior leader point of view Hands-on experience implementing DBS or process improvement/orientation in a leadership role
