Our Exciting Opportunity!

The Business Controller, WWAN & Security is a pivotal leader within the Finance and Commercial Management team, serving as the primary finance business partner for a specific Business Unit. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance and Commercial Management, this role is responsible for aligning the Business Unit's financial objectives with the overall corporate strategy and ensuring robust financial performance. Operating within a matrix organization, the Business Controller must leverage superior influence and collaboration skills as the CFO for the Business Unit.
This role can be based in either Plano, TX, Boise, ID or Santa Clara, CA. 
 

In this role you will leverage:

End-to-End Financial Advisory and Influence:
•    Advise and influence business decisions to increase and protect shareholder value, identify and raise challenges that may risk the business achieving unit and group financial objectives.
•    Drive performance improvement and target achievement by aligning the Business Unit’s strategic agenda with unit and group strategy and targets.
•    Serve as an obvious partner in business decisions, providing proactive business partnering and advice through Value Creation. Engage in discussions and negotiations, ensuring continuous involvement from start to finish.
•    Cover capital and resource allocation using ROI analysis, driving the strategic agenda from a financial perspective, setting business targets for teams, ensuring plans align with business goals across all units including sales, marketing, product development and operations and guiding resource allocation.
Financial Planning, Analysis, and Reporting:
•    Oversee and manage the financial planning and analysis function for the Business Unit, including the full P&L and Balance Sheet.
•    Prepare and present monthly financial results, reporting on key financial and operational KPIs.
•    Work with cross-functional teams to develop real-time dashboards for insights into business trends, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
•    Secure correct accounting and financial reporting in the operational dimension, cooperating closely with Financial Control and Financial Business Services.
Strategic Business Partnering and Influence:
•    Act as the Finance Single Point of Contact for key executive stakeholders, driving a "One Finance" mindset across supporting teams.
•    Regularly update finance teams on business opportunities, risks, targets, and financial plans.
•    Enable access to relevant financial data, such as customer contracts, business cases, and project details, for supporting finance teams.
•    Seek and leverage shared learnings from the wider community to enhance shareholder value while contributing to the Finance community.
Governance and Risk Management acumen:
•    Drive governance to manage risks and opportunities related to sales and margin actively.
•    Advise on potential financial risks, proposing and driving risk mitigation strategies.
•    Ensure adherence to Finance Framework execution, including business processes and accounting principles.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Support:
•    Partner with Product, Sales, and Marketing teams to assess ROI on growth initiatives and GTM strategy.
•    Support purchasing programs and operations to ensure effective cost management and productivity improvements.
•    Drive and manage ad hoc special projects or analyses for strategic initiatives, market expansion, and potential commercial transactions or acquisitions.
Results-oriented delivery:
•    Effective alignment of financial objectives with the Business Unit's strategic goals.
•    Enhanced shareholder value through strategic financial leadership and insightful decision support.
•    Cultivation of a culture that views Finance as a critical business enabler within the Business Unit.
•    Successful execution of the Finance Mandate across the Business Unit.
 

To be successful in the role, you will also bring:

•    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, CFA) preferred.
•    Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with a track record of success in business with multiple go-to-market channels in the high tech or similar industry strongly preferred.
•    Extensive experience in senior finance roles with strategic influence and leadership capabilities.
•    Strong proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools, including advanced Excel skills.
•    Solid understanding of risk management principles and practices, with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to diverse audiences.
•    Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams.
•    High level of integrity and commitment to ethical standards.

Compensation and Benefits at Ericsson -  At Ericsson, we know that our people are the key to our success. We offer a competitive package to help with your individual needs and goals.

Your Pay -The salary range for this position is listed below. The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

For Santa Clara, CA - $240,000 - $260,000

Your Time - Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of

accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
