POSITION SUMMARY:
The Bulk Unloader demonstrates a customer focus through support for Operations, Materials, and Maintenance. This individual will use Visual Controls, Standardized Work, Training, and Escalation to identify & resolve lines out of standard conditions. The Bulk Unloader will also provide support to Production Team Members' roles and responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Model safety behaviors, PPE requirements, workplace org, and mentoring/training of other TM on safety conceptsSafe and efficient operation of various warehouse equipment and inventory management devices.Remove pallets of finished products from packaging lines in a timely manner and move them to the designated area.Deliver raw materials to the packaging lines in a timely manner, so that the line doesn’t have to shut down to wait for any material.Load finished goods pallets into trailers to maximize safe transport and minimize damage to the product. Create accurate and timely Bills of Lading.Follow all Standard Operating Procedures pertaining to receiving, loading, and unloading of trucks and adhere to all company policies and regulations.Responsible for any daily or weekly cleaning of the shipping & receiving areas including equipment and fork trucks.Accurately receive, count, identify, and inspect all incoming goods using a copy of our purchase order or request for purchase order as a guide. Work with the supervisor in adjusting the PO/RPO to match what was physically received.Monitor all incoming bulk loads to ensure safe unloading and transfer into bulk storage tanks.Assist in the preparation of all incoming packaging components, raw materials, etc. for storage using best possible spaced utilization or as directed.Maintain completed receiving information including all freight bills, packing lists, purchase orders, etc. to supervisor.Conduct daily cycle counts by counting all items on a daily list, and searching all locations to ensure counts are as accurate as possible.Review and inspect all returned goods for quality in both the product and packaging. Follow the instructions on the Product Disposition Form as to the re-stock status.Assist receiving employees in the reworking of product returns. This includes inspecting, re-labeling, re-pouring, or re-packing of materials to be used by shipping to meet customer orders.Inspect FG product for quality and accuracy as it is scanned and loaded for transfer to the finished good warehouse in accordance with the verification SOP.Report any and all safety /environmental / process issues to supervisors and or management immediately.Participate in the layered audits of pumps, hoses, and bulk tank systems as developed by the plant leadership team for each shift.Manage and perform preventative maintenance on the plant Bulk tank system, offload area, etc.Manage the processes of raw chemicals, finished products, and other liquid movements to and from tankers, trucks, etc.Manage daily/weekly/monthly bulk tank level data and interact with schedulers and buyers to ensure bulk tank levels are sufficient for production. Includes weekly SAP reconciliation.Verify tanker number and corresponding paperwork to ensure the safe and accurate delivery of raw materials to the correct bulk tanks.Follow quality and safety standards for taking samples of raw materials.Manage daily measurements within the Bulk system and ensure paperwork is accurate and completed on time.Assist in Bulk, Mix, or Effluent areas in the management of high-risk reworks or development of SOPs for the safe handling of products with the Diversey leadership team.Assist in the Mix or Effluent room as required, including batch creation, cleaning, chemical movement, etc.Participate in TPM (Preventative Maintenance) thru planned downtime and weekend activities (may require OT as needed)Learn and perform simple maintenance tasks related to the assignment such as checking valves, filters, hoses, dome caps, etc.Support and train T/L as required to support operations as SMEs in the actions noted above.Fill in for any absent T/M as required in Material handling or Bulk unload operations.Know product quality standards required for incoming raw materials, effluent management, filler operations, etc.Raise concerns/escalate issues as required using the escalation process to Supervisor or other Diversey leadership.Perform 6S tasks and lead continuous improvement of workplace organization.Follow the standard daily routine and support the organization to achieve team and business goals on a daily basis.Maintain regular communication with the team, cross-shifts, and supervisors.Become certified as an expert in Pumps, Hoses, and chemical fluid safety standards and be an SME for the facility. Train others as required.Become certified and a plant SME on high-risk activities such as pumps, hoses, totes, and chemicals such as bleach, ammonia, nitric acid, etc.Become certified as a Bulk unload operator for raw materials entering the facility, stored in the Bulk raw room, and other bulk system requirements.Become trained and certified as a forklift operator to assist in day-to-day assignment requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalentExperience in a plant environment.Must be able to move materials weighing up to 100 pounds using existing safety tools and systems. Heavier lifting with lift assists is possible. Ability to stand for periods of up to 4 hours at a time. Ability to perform repetitive bending and stretching on a daily basis.Must be able to do physical work as it relates to the needs of the production facility. Also works in an office environment and be able to sit for long periods of time.
