SUMMARY
The Automation Manager leads and mentors a dynamic team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. This position oversees the end-to-end development and configuration of workflow automation and bots, ensuring they align with business requirements. Additionally, this position creates and maintains a collaborative environment with various stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment. This position involves overseeing solution design, integration with existing systems, and supporting comprehensive testing and deployment. Also, this position establishes robust monitoring and documentation practices, facilitates maintenance and troubleshooting, and engages in strategic planning and budgeting, all while ensuring risk awareness and compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads and mentors the automation development IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Oversees the end-to-end development and configuration of workflow automation and bots, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
Fosters a collaborative environment with business stakeholders, Product Owners, Product Managers, Agile Leads, Release Engineers, and other IT staff to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Ensures adherence to predetermined design patterns and standards during solution design, providing guidance and support to the team.
Collaborates with the Software Integration team to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions with existing systems and applications.
Partners with the QA and Release Management teams for comprehensive testing and smooth deployment of automation solutions.
Establishes monitoring and documentation practices for all created solutions, ensuring they are well-maintained and easily accessible.
Leads the team in maintaining and troubleshooting solutions throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
Engages in strategic conversations, planning, and budgeting for automation platforms and ancillary technologies, aligning with organizational goals.
Ensures the team operates with a strong awareness of risk, adhering to security, compliance, and IT governance standards.
Produces reports and analytics to track the usage, performance, and impact of automation initiatives, providing insights for continuous improvement.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the recruitment and hiring process to attract and onboard top talent aligned with organizational needs.
Oversee the training and development to enhance employee skills and career growth.
Provide performance coaching to employees, fostering continuous improvement and achievement of goals.
Implement strategies to boost employee engagement and retention, creating a positive and productive work environment.
Manage conflict resolution processes to maintain a harmonious and collaborative workplace.
QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to analyze and map out business processes to identify automation opportunities and design efficient solutions.
Knowledge of RPA tools, low-code/no-code platforms, and orchestration software (e.g., Fiserv Director, ControlM, Power Platform, UiPath).
An aptitude in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or SQL.
Expertise in integrating automation solutions with various systems and applications, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues with automated workflows and bots quickly and effectively.
Knowledge of testing methodologies and tools to ensure the reliability and performance of automation solutions through rigorous testing and validation.
Excellent documentation skills to create detailed design specifications, test plans, and user guides.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and provide training and support.
Ability to continuously evaluate and improve automation processes, staying updated with the latest technologies and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Skills in managing automation efforts, including planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring they meet deadlines.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and security standards to ensure that all automation solutions comply with these requirements.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, IT staff, and other automation professionals, to achieve common goals.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in a related field required
4-6 years experience in workflow automation, process improvement, similar work, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required and
Supervisory experience required
