Ericsson is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robotic automation systems to optimize production processes. This role requires a strong background in electrical, mechanical, and programming disciplines, with a focus on robotics and automation in manufacturing environments. The candidate must demonstrate advanced English proficiency to communicate complex ideas effectively and engage in discussions.
What will you do:
• Design, develop, and implement automated robotic systems to enhance manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams locally and globally to identify automation opportunities and optimize current processes.
• Program and configure robotic systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and other automation equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to robotic systems and automation processes.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop safety protocols to ensure safe operation of automated systems.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians in automation projects and technology advancements.
• Participate in global workgroups to present, discuss, and develop global solutions.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in robotics and automation.
• Analyze system performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
The skills you bring:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in automation engineering, focusing on robotics in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems related to robotics and automation.
• Experience with PLC programming and configuration, including Siemens, B&R, etc.
• Familiarity with CAD software and tools for designing automation systems.
• Advanced English proficiency for communicating complex ideas and engaging in discussions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment across local and global teams.
• Proven track record of successful project management and execution.
• This position may require occasional travel to other manufacturing sites or vendors.
• On-call support is required to address urgent technical issues outside of regular working hours.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with vision systems, SCADA, and MES.
• Knowledge of UR robots, Epson, and ABB robotic systems.
• Hands-on approach with a proactive and self-driven attitude.
• Commitment to self-development and continuous learning.
