JOB PURPOSE

Unilever International (UI) as part of Unilever is committed to ensure that our products are fully compliant with local legislations across the globe and meets Unilever’s own high internal standards as well as with the technical aspects of legislation. UI Regulatory Affairs team leads this mandate and supports the entire Unilever International portfolio across the globe, dealing with a wide variety in compliance activities and interacts with across functions in Unilever. This role will manage regulatory & product compliance requirements for UI portfolio and innovation projects across Americas PC & BW.  For regulatory advocacy and expertise, this role will work with Unilever Regulatory Affairs community as well as with external Regulatory Experts in all clusters.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

To design and maintain processes to support UI business in product compliance assurance for PC & BW products in Americas (USA, Canada & LATAM)To build & maintain a strong network of global contacts in R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, Legal, SERS, etc., to facilitate assurance of product compliance for UITo work with external experts, create of an eco-system of RPs (Regulatory Partners i.e. regulatory consultants), & continuously monitor their performance for Americas.Evaluate and advice the prop 65 requirements, contaminants monitoring for UI innovation/renovation projectsCo-ordinate and ensure compliance of existing portfolio of UI products, affected by new regulation changes in a geography.Act as first point of contact for any regulatory queries for PC & BW products for UI Europe, UK and Middle East teams.To be digitally salient to embrace and incorporate digital processes for Regulatory Affairs.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

Fully operational knowledge in RA for cosmetics in North America region.Working knowledge of R&D operations: formulations, products, Raw materials, etc.,Strong ability to design processes and to spread best practiceStrong Business acumen, agility & personal mastery.Independent problem-solving personality, that can delegate up and down and works well with multi-functional teamsExcellent communicator, who can engage senior leaders and enthuse operational teamsBe able to work flexibly and agileFluent in English and preferably also fluent in Spanish

Skills

Bachelor’s degree/ master’s degree in engineering / science / related disciplines4-6 years of experience on handing cosmetics regulations in a region / categoryExcellence verbal/written communication skills in English is a mustBeing multilingual is highly desirable & ability to work with people across culturesMulti-tasking ability & ability to work independently with Cross-functional team membersA person with strong business understanding will be preferredHaving working knowledge on majority of the Unilever digital tools will be an advantage.Travelling will be required (
