Associate Manager - Finance Business ControllerPurpose of the Role
The overall purpose of the role is to optimize financial outcomes by establishing and executing financial policies, procedures, governance, and reporting to ensure economic transparency, incentivize economic decision making, and ensure effective financial control. This will guide management of the organizational business unit and cost centre managers in charge with dedicated focus on investments, project cost, and initiatives.
Associate Manager - Finance Business Controller is responsible for business support, controlling, and planning activities related to gross margin evolution for Amadeus Indonesia. It ensures that the business case process is fully respected.
Main Responsibilities
Business Cases
Ensure the business case (BC) process is prepared and respected (compulsory in INCA).
Act as the INCA Business Case Solution Local Champion, providing support and guidance to the team on best practices for BC in INCA.
Verify old contract information input in BC is correct and provide incentives reference for All-in incentive KPI, ensuring policy and guidelines are followed.
Provide consultancy to enhance profitability for Amadeus by evaluating and refining offers, ensuring BC assumptions are realistic, mitigating risks (commercial, financial, legal), and ensuring commitments for revenues and costs.
Conduct sensitivity analysis and benchmarking, presenting worst-case scenarios, deviations vs. budget, and potential compensation.
Manage approval and signature limits based on total disbursement.
Conduct retrospective analysis and review of signed deals, producing a BC tracker monthly and measuring actual performance vs. signed volume as per BC, highlighting shortfalls and following up closely for realistic corrective actions.
Pre-Signature Review and Post-Signature Follow-Up (SA/SL in dual languages)
Ensure the pre-signature review process (SA/SL) aligns with approval (walk-away) and address misalignments vs. approval version.
Respect the post-signature follow-up process, managing accruals of cost and revenues as per signed conditions, charging products as per contract/amendments/protocols, applying waiving process if approved, and ensuring compliance with contract commitments.
Request to apply corrective measures if commitments are not reached, inform the commercial team, and process the corresponding approval if there is a different commercial need.
Incentives
Analyze and closely monitor incentives in close relation with the Billing Analyst.
Review the quarterly incentives calculation for Indonesia before approving MNI billing to release TAPS advice to external customers.
Support regional controlling/commercial/GM/sales with gross margin at the customer level or by region (Jakarta/Surabaya/Medan) for various purposes (GSIS project/retail mass market/budgeting/marketing funding) on a recurrent basis.
Provide visibility to the sales organization about real customer profitability per account manager portfolio on a recurrent basis.
Ensure incentives calculation for forecast and budget follow standard procedures with the correct backup associated.
Provide guidance to the billing and accounting team on ongoing process improvements to streamline and make processes effective.
User Rewards
Analyze and closely monitor customer variable costs in close relation with the Billing Analyst.
Oversee the administration of transferring local rewards points intended for travel consultants in the form of cash value in the OVO platform, ensuring the process is respected and correct backup is associated. Any exception requires Head of Finance and Legal approval.
Ensure the agreed process calendar for local user rewards is respected by all stakeholders.
Institute a strong control and monitoring mechanism in the liquidation of rewards process to support internal audit.
Oversee and closely monitor the Travel Fair P&L analysis and projection to ensure profitability is tracked and potential gaps are highlighted.
Financial Reporting and Coordination
Prepare, coordinate, consolidate, and provide all details needed regarding financial reporting (segment reporting) to provide management with information and recommendations for proper planning, follow-up, and decision-making.
Automate and enhance reports using internal applications (SAP, SAC, Qlik, etc.).
Participate in the budget planning exercise by providing inputs and data submission in the common platform (BW). Prepare, analyze, review, and consolidate plans such as LTP, budget, forecasts, quarterly estimates, resources, and production.
Follow up on budgets and produce monthly reports for internal clients and corporate finance.
Coordinate ad hoc requests and collaborate with stakeholders (legal, P&C, sales, regional finance team).
Coordinate with local and functional customer deadlines to ensure information is available on a monthly basis.
Closely coordinate and collaborate with legal, auditors, tax, company secretary, actuary, accounting, and billing to ensure compliance with local statutory deadlines for LKPM and annual tax, VAT monthly, WHT, and accounting filing.
Prepare management accounts in PSAK and report to the Head of Finance MNI monthly.
Relevant Work Experience
Proven experience in Business Controlling, Finance & Accounting or similar roles
In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting (based on PSAK, familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is preferable).
In-depth knowledge of tax regulations and practices, especially in handling tax computation, tax reporting, tax reconciliation/equalization, tax inquiry, and tax audit (pemeriksaan pajak).
Familiarity with transfer pricing regulation is an advantage.
Familiarity with the SAP system, including organizing financial databases.
Manage, monitor/oversee, and improve the organization's finances process and strategies
Familiarity with handling financial audits and tax audits as the auditee.
Familiarity with handling vendor matters (administrative and commercial matters).
Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Detail-oriented and prudent in dealing with accounting/tax/finance matters.
Fluent in both verbal and written communication in Bahasa Malaysia or Indonesia, as well as English
University degree in Finance / Controlling, Engineering, Business Analysis or equivalent Professional certifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Tax Consultant (BKP)
