About Your Business Area/Department:
There are very strict physical conditions to make an airplane fly. When airlines buy an airplane, the manufacturer provides a set of reference documents that explains how the plane can be loaded, how each plane elements - cargo, fuel, baggage, seats - affects the position of the plane's centre of gravity and the envelope in which the centre of gravity should stay into to ensure the plane can fly safely. If the centre of gravity gets out of this envelope, the plane is at risk of becoming uncontrollable and thus cannot fly. Altea Flight Management FM is the application ensuring that planes fly safely as per the manufacturer recommendation throughout their flight. It also implements a very high level of automation, along with advanced forecasting and optimizations capabilities which allows to reduce the fuel consumed by the plane, ultimately reducing CO2 emissions for each flight.
Summary of the role:
As a manager of one of the agile teams working on Altea Flight Management, your main responsibility will be to build a strong, self-organized and customer-focused team that is empowered to plan, deliver, take initiatives, and solve problems autonomously. The team is composed of a mix of business analysts, software engineers and QA engineers. You will have a key role to inspire, develop and motivate your team while fostering a culture of feedback and continuous improvement.
In this role you’ll:
Develop and grow each team member by
Coaching the team members, defining and implementing personalized career paths, training plans and development strategy Leading the recruitment and recruitment strategy, finding the future talents to maintain a balanced and most efficient team
Build a high performing team
Drive changes to increase engagement, autonomy, efficiency, T-shaping and self-organization Provide all support needed for delivery and interactions with stakeholdersBe accountable for the team’s delivery and performance
Support FM components and build or support building the vision and the future of FM
Organize or support the organization of the FM components to serve most efficiently our customers, our business and current and future developmentAbout the ideal candidate:
Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in software engineering Experience with Agile methodologies (ideally SAFe) An understanding of what it takes to design, build and operate a large scale, complex system that must operate flawlessly 24x7, 365 days per yearPrevious management experience is a strong plus Experience in the Travel IT industry is a plusWhat we can offer you:
