We’re looking for an AFR South Area Business Development Manager
Job purpose
Implement business development plans and processes to generate new/ additional business, maximize profit and grow market share in line with business strategy, financial objectives, Group guidelines and policies
Key tasks
Execute business development plans and processes to achieve targeted customer growth and retention rate, revenue targets and budgetsDeliver projects and initiatives to develop new business and maximize exposure for DHL amongst targeted prospectsUndertake market studies and feasibility studies to assess market potential and analyze target groupsProspect new business development opportunities through market research, developing marketing initiatives, etc.Initiate contact with targeted prospects, identify decision makers and work to understand strategic business challenges and prioritiesIdentify prospective customer needs and matches these with DHL’s servicesDevelop leads, conduct pre-proposal visitations, prepare difficult proposals and conduct negotiations to closeMaintain and build relationships with prospects and potential key accounts including prospects’ highest buying levels and coordinate the activities of prospect-focused teamsInitiate new business relationships with non-buying accounts that have been targeted by the companyPartner with local, district and regional management to coordinate customer requests and services that are being promotedCoordinate sales efforts with inside sales and provide flow of data on account competitors and suppliers to product managementIdentify problems that may not be clear in own area of authority and modify work methods accordingly without the benefit of defined proceduresJob requirements
Requires a minimum of 3-5 years Sales in Freight Forwarding (air and ocean freight required)Excellent Knowledge of Airfreight ProductExperience with logistics processes, systems and solutions.Excellent analytical skills and sales attitudeStrategic vision, Forwarding business acumen, results driven and attention to detailsExcellent communication and negotiation skills, strong problem-solving attitudeCapability to recognize threats and opportunities, introducing best practices focusing on delivering continuous improvement and enhanced productivityExcellent knowledge of targeted geographical areaITALIAN LANGUAGE REQUIREDWHY join our DHL team
