Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job

Unilever Homecare set Clean Future strategy to lead a transformation of the home care industry by setting new standards in product superiority with great value and sustainability. Both homecare chemistry and machine technology are evolving at an unprecedented pace, advanced machine becomes important part of homecare solution.

In this role, the individual will be responsible to set-up end-to-end product innovation strategy, develop homecare consumer products focusing on products for auto-dosing machine, and other solutions designed for advanced machine, with the integration of advanced machine science, e.g. steam wash, micro-bubble and other technologies.

He/she will establish partnership with advanced machine ecosystem globally, especially local ecosystem in China for home care product innovation.

Main Accountabilities

Define consumer new pain point and design innovative product and device solution, e.g. auto-dosing consumer products, to expand brand penetration and uplift HC product superiority.Set up “Win-Win” strategic relationship with ecosystem partners, especially local advanced machine partners, to design tailor made / refilled / exclusive product solution and build DTC new channel.Create new business opportunities and models in new channels, enable IOT and big data, work out homecare consumer product solutions integrated with machine science.Lead end-to-end homecare consumer product innovation in R&D to deliver superior products based on the science base of advanced machine and land to market.Set novel homecare product development strategy along with electric appliance industry evolvement (e.g., auto sensor system, data creation, AI algorithm, superconductor), considering the impact of changing consumer behaviors and external factors, e.g., renewable energy and regulations.Build a science base for advanced machine relevant innovations and energy solutions across Home Care markets.Be responsible for whole set device validation and RA clearance.Strong business sense and device background with open innovation mindset

Key Skills

1. Highly self-motivated and self-starter

2. Passionate on the innovative product development integrated with advanced machine science

3. Strong business sense and product innovation background with open innovation mindset.

4. Good understanding of advanced homecare machine, including but not limited to laundry machine, floor cleaner, and etc.,

5. Ability to lead R&D strategy setting and multiple project tasks for innovative product design.

6. Fluent English both in oral and written, excellent presentation skill;

Relevant Experience

1. Master and above degree in Mechanical engineering / Chemical Sciences / Engineering

2. 8+ years of related experience on homecare consumer product innovation.

3. 3+ years of experience in a leadership position managing homecare consumer product innovation or engineering / machine scientific research teams.

4. Experience in advanced homecare product and machine R&D,

5. Preferred to have experience in advanced machine including but not limited to laundry machine, floor cleaner, and etc.,
