Advanced Database Administrator SQL (m/f/d)

Major Responsibilities

Integration of database add-on product suitesMonitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast database servicesProvide means supporting the control and monitoring of access permissions and privilegesEnsuring that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are operating correctly including disaster recovery proceduresCommissioning and installing new DB solutionsUpgrading databases to new versions Validating and testing of new versions of the database management system (RDBMS)Writing and maintaining database documentation, including platform specifications and procedures descriptionClose integration work with various development teams for supporting and promoting products, features, and releaseOn-call supportProblem investigation, debugging and fixingCustomization, maintenance and support under 24x5 rigorous operational conditionsProject and/or team core-member representationWorking closely with IT project managers, Development and Operational support teamsCommunicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and securityresponsible for the administration, operability, performance, integrity and security of different database platformspatching, upgrades, migration, kernel patching and ensure PCI compliancy and remediate vulnerabilitiesarchitects and develops efficient automation framework for better management of the infrastructure running on related Systemsdevelops enterprise-grade distributed products that can perform, scale, and integrate into a broad enterprise ecosystemfollows and implements industry best practices for better time to market using latest CI/CD technologies and automate day to day tasks

  

Relevant Job Experience

5+ years of operational DBA experience under acute 24x7 operational conditionsExperience in automation of database platforms is a plus

Qualification (School, university, equivalent, etc.)

University degree in Computer Science or equivalent.Relevant operational experience with, at least, two commercial RDBMS (one at least being considered strategic by Amadeus, i.e. Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB)RDBMS, programming certification is a plus

 
Know How / Skills

Good scripting knowledge (i.e. shell, python, Ansible)Advanced HW, OS, and storage infrastructure knowledgeField experience in supporting critical production HA workloadsMS Azure experience / certification is is plusStrong core technology skills with hands-on exposure on latest or mainstream engine versions and features (2 RDBMS at least)Ability to work independentlyGood communication and consulting skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsGood English in verbal and written communicationProactive mindset in mitigating/avoiding foreseeable issuesAbility to work in multinational and multicultural environment
