**Job Overview**
TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding or assembly related topics, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output. They are experts in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, possessing extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes which may include the optimization and standardization of stamping / molding / assembly or other processes within the manufacturing environment. Manufacturing Engineering Teams enable the TE business unit plants to reach TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE), Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP’s) and advise plants on tool and machine duplications / corrections / improvements. They design and develop manufacturing process and automation platforms and apply them for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production. The Teams also support Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable manufacturing concepts relative to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location. They act as interface between engineering and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs and smooth production ramp up as well as support the research & development teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment, product samples and prototypes.
**What your background should look like:**
Tasks:
• Take lead automation project and monitor project development progress, performance, lead time and cost:
o Contain the ability to independently complete mechanical design for auto machines or upgrading toolkit.
o Work with electrical engineer, machine vision engineer and technicians to build automatic machine.
o Identification of improvement opportunities in all working process.
o Analysis ability for cost and saving, prepare capital application report and enable to present it with leadership.
o Machine design, prototypes verification and ultimate approval of supplier designs.
o Supervision of automation project in design, manufacturing, installation, trial run and mass production.
• Drive innovation, monitoring industry trends and new technology opportunities, ensuring technical leadership.
• Provide mechanical design support on other automation machine development projects.
• Lead problem solving support in mechanical aspect for existing equipment in all process.
• Take part in cross functional project teams to diagnose machine hardware issues.
• Cooperate to write technical specifications and documentation for mass production.
Profile:
• Engineer with more than 8 years of working experience in automation engineering, at least 5 years of working experience in mechanical design. Experience in connector or terminal industry will be a bonus. For excellent candidates, the working years requirement can be appropriately relaxed.
• Technical university degree or diploma (bachelor’s or master’s Degree) or equivalent experience, majored in mechanical engineering.
• Working experience in machine mechanical design of non-standard equipment, such as assembly machine\packing machine\stamping auxiliary machine will be a plus.
• Knowledge of multiple functions of moving component, like motor, motion guide, magnetic levitation module, etc.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities, able to analyze data and use critical thinking to reach logical conclusions and decisions; results oriented; relies on fact-based logic for decision-making.
• Demonstrated organizational and management skills and achieving quality results through team interaction and effective cross-group collaboration, including customers and suppliers.
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects/work streams at one time; must be able to formulate analyses and reports and deliver results based upon project deadlines.
• Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions with minimal supervision.
